Dreich ....

12th December 2020 (Saturday)      09.30 .... Welllll .... it’s not the bonniest

Mid - afternoon.

of mornings, with everything being wet after overnight rain, and it’s still raining.    I’ve been to Ainster (‘The Store’)  to top up the ‘emergency rations’ which included two small bags of bread mix to make morrrrrrrning rolls, in case of inclement weather over the next few weeks.    ‘Master Plan’ for today?..... it’s a stay in, stay dry stay safe kind of morning;   and the forecast isn’t ‘iggzactly’ exciting for the afternoon either.    I’ll be ‘lining up’ the cuppas.

16.00     The sky showed signs of braking up in the middle of the afternoon, so, even the rain hadn’t completely stopped, I had a walk to the beach;  and I enjoyed it.    There was a moody looking sky begging to be photographed;    the rain had died down to a light Scotch Mist, so out came the camera for a few quick ‘clicks’.    Hopefully the breaking sky means a brighter day tomorrow;   the forecast isn’t very promising.... with spells of rain coming our way.

19.30    I should be able to take the bike for the paper early in the morning tomorrow.... so that s the ‘plan’.   Get up and out early before any spells of rain that might have the audacity to enter Royal Burgh air space.    It looks like it might be a good day for making shortbread biscuits;  this time they’ll smaller in diameter .... and thinner.

Today I actually found a really interesting programme to watch on the TV today;  about Leonardo da Vinci:  Parts one and two, so two hours of interesting TV, on the same day.    Actually it would only be an hour and a bit of interesting TV, because of the adverts.

The UK ‘News’ is being dominated with the Brexit discussions and the COVID-19

crisis.  The Brexit discussions I ignore because I think that’s going to be a disaster;   and I suspect that the third wave of the COVID-19 crisis will be well ‘cultivated’ over the Christmas and New Year period.   That is negative thinking.... brought on by the dreich weather we’ve had today.   A new wave won't burst our wee bubble anyway, of that I feel positive.   Everything will begin to look better once the vaccine notifications begin to drop through the letter box.
