Showery look ....


5th August 2019 (Monday)     06.30 .... It isn’t a day for gardening... everything is soaking wet;  in fact by the look of the sky we could get a few short spells

of light rain this morning.    I’m going to the beach after this update;  it's not a morning for the bike, though I will get it out to go for the paper and morning coffee.


08.00    Everything is clean and bright after yesterday’s rain .... and also wet, especially the bents.   The beach was quiet with only the lassie from Links Road, out with her collie, and me down there.   I’ve no doubt it will be busier soon.... but that depends on how the weather goes.

15.00     It’s turned out a nice afternoon though we had a short spell of light rain/drizzle;  it wasn’t heavy enough for me to take the washing off the line.    The washing is now nearly dry so I am keeping an eye on the clouds.    I haven’t been out on the bike but as far as I can see the evening is going to be the best part o’ the day;  I’ll go up to Chapel Green then.   In the meantime I’ve been cleaning out one of the kitchen cupboards.    That doesn’t take long but having washed the shelves etc I can’t put anything back in the cupboard, until aforementioned shelves are dry.    I’ll have a cuppa and do a Soduko.


20.00    I haven’t been feeling good at all today:  I didn’t even go out on the bike..... I kinda think it’s a weather thing because I’m beginning to feel brighter now.     All
Cracker of a morning.
afternoon I’ve been sitting in the Hutte doing Soduko’s and falling asleep.   I’m going to take a couple of pills and have an early night in bed with my book.   Every time I woke up (in the Hutte) I had to make myself a fresh cuppa;  the previous one had gone cold.
Michael and Janice are driving up tonight; leaving Sunny Sussex about 22.00.....  they should be here about 08.00.   I’m reasonably well organised though I will have to do a shopping.... after morning coffee.   ‘Dod’ .... if you want to go I’ll meet you at aforesaid morning coffee.   It’s probably my turn to pay!
There’s are yellow warnings out for thundery showers, for both tomorrow and Wednesday afternoons.    We won’t have to bother about a hosepipe ban that’s for sure.... not if it rains like it did yesterday.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
