Cooler air but nice ....


29th August 2019 (Thursday)     05.30  .... It’s a quiet kind of
Pre sunrise sky over Elie Bay.
morrrrrrrrning so I’m going to take a wander to the beach to see what kind of sunrise we get;   sunrise time being 06.08 for ‘KY9’ this morning.   There’s affair bit of clouds around but the early sky does look promising.

07.30   Apart from the usual birds, I had the beach to myself this morning;  which is not surprising considering the time.    It was an interesting pre sunrise sky and, though not spectacular it is always exhilarating watching the sky change:  it makes me feel irrelevant in the general scheme of things but really glad that I made the effort to be there.   One thing I must do is remember that it isn’t ’iggzactly’ warm at that time and dress accordingly;  heavy duty jacket etc.   Yes it was a bonnie start to the morning... even though there was a touch of ‘red sky in the morning’ etc.   There is a chance of light showers later according to the forecast.

19.00   We did catch a couple of showers, one of them heavy, in the afternoon.... and the temperature has dropped considerably.    Well it feels ‘considerable’ after the high temperatures we’ve enjoyed recently.   Sunny Sussex (and the south east) is the place to be.... they’re still getting temperatures up to 25c.
I haven’t done much today;  though I did do a small washing;  and some weeding as it’s the  ‘broon bucket’ tomorrow.   I kept an eye on the weather re the washing and managed to get it ‘nearly dry’ before the showers came.

In the afternoon I visited Jim.... and found him more or less as he was yesterday.   He remembered that ‘M’ was with me yesterday, and that we had a conversation about New Zealand:  he asked how long she was over for and would I be bringing her in again.   We had a ‘normal’ conversation. As long as I remember to keep to the one
5 minutes after sunrise.

When I got back from Leven Patricia stopped to tell me that I’d missed a Coffee Morning earlier this week, and the Drop in Cafe this afternoon.   I can’t believe that I missed those.... but I did.   I am a silly boy.

 ‘Strong winds and rain’ is the weather forecast for KY9 tomorrow;  it looks like being a ‘work on the computer’ day.    I’ll manage to go for morning coffee, and the paper.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
