Peaceful morning .....

19th August 2024 (Monday)     07.10 .... it's a really quiet, still kind of morning;  yes ....the sky is

overcast but it's a nice, peaceful start to the 'working week'.   Rain is forecast to move in, later in the afternoon, but I'm hoping the 'team' can make a start on the garden before that happens.   I've had breakfast, I need another cuppa now. 

20.00   It has been overcast all day but at least the rain didn't arrive until 16.20;  and it's still raining so not an evening for going out with the camera.... even in the car!   Gerry and the Team have been very busy and my garden is well on the way to being reinstated.    It's going to look really good;  but I won't put a photo up until it's finished.   I always knew that 'Rural Developments' would do as promised and they certainly are doing that.   I went out before 08.00 and didn't get back until 14.30.... and I was absolutely gob smacked at how much progress has been made.   I'm a very happy boy.   I'm now going to have a quick browse to find some 'bright and sunny photos of Elie and Earlsferry!

I don't have a 'plan' for tomorrow.... oops cancel that;  I do have a 'plan!....I have to hand in my prescription at some point tomorrow morrrrrrrrrrning;  I might even visit the harbour if the roads are quiet.    I say that because, on the way home from Methil this afternoon there was a continuous stream of traffic travelling West.   This made me think that a lot of holiday makers were going home, therefore the East Neuk might be less busy.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
