Nice morning ....

5th August 2024 (Monday)     10.30 .... Although mostly cloudy earlier, we now have sunny spells,


with the chance of light showers later;  it's a bonnie morning.   Michael and Janice are away for a daunder and I'm resting.  That said, I am feeling brighter than I've felt for a while;  not 'iggzactly' frolicsome but feeling positive.... I might even go for a short run in the car.

21.30    It has been  a nice day ;  a bit humid at the beginning and end and the fresh breeze in the afternoon was very welcome.    I'm still 'resting' though I manage to do the necessary 'ousework but it can be a struggle at times.   Tomorrow I have an appointment (14.30) at the Urology Clinic at Queen Margaret in Dunfermline;  Michael and Janice are taking me;  hopefully it won't be as long as 'Vic' one was.   That said.... I have been advised to take reading material!   Michael and Janice will drop me off and get me settled in, then can go somewhere around Dunfermline until I am done.    I'm in the middle of a a course of anti biotics so I can't imagine that they will be able to do much.

I'd hoped that the garden would have been finished by the time I was having hospital appointments;  but is isn't and I'm feeling quite depressed about that.   My neighbours (Chris and Julie) are not happy and want to see my garden re-instated as promised.   The Architect 'might' 'be coming on the 12th, but, having read the e-mail again I very much doubt if she will turn up.


Michael and Janice had a walk up to Chapel Green this evening.  (I'd love to be able to go up there but I can't use the bike just now).   It was very quit and the sky was really interesting.... as you can see from the photographs that Janice sent me.  I have a load of them but I'll tired so will sort  them remainder out tomorrow morning (having done three for 'The Hutte' tonight).

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
