Nice morning .....

9th August 2024 (Wednesday)    10.00 .... It's a lovely morning, with fresh breeze, so loads o' fresh air;  a good day for those doing the Coastal Path,    Having said that, light rain is mentioned in the forecast for KY9.   After the busy day I had yesterday, this is definitely a 'rest day':  I might take a turn out in the car later, but, my word, I was physically shattered yesterday.   I've had breakfast..... a cuppa is what I need now, before I do some 'ooverin'.... maybe!   

20.30    It has been a really nice day;  sunny with a cooling breeze.   Light rain was forecast bit it never arrived.    Michael and Janice went up to the top of Kincraig then out the Shell Bay Caravan Park, where they had lunch in the Café (I forget the name of it);  I mooched around Ivy, resting after the  busy day yesterday.   It was a long and tiring day and I was glad to crawl into my bed.    Today has been spent doing any necessary 'ousework, watching the Olympics and sleeping.   I should be feel well rested tomorrow.

Michael and Janice are going to Livingstone Designer Outlet (Almondvale) first thing tomorrow morning; and back home by lunchtime.   Unfortunately I have not been much company for them this visit, but I have enjoyed them being here.... but not being able to be as active as I'd like to be, been frustrating at times.  Janice and Michael travel back home to 'sunny and warm Sussex' on Friday.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
