Overcast and damp .....

10th January 2024 (Wednesday)    08.30 .... It's a nice enough morning, even though the sky


ismostly overcast with a spot o' drizzle now and again ....'drizzle with a moderate breeze' is the weather forecast..    This is a 'rest' day for me after the exertions of yesterday... in fact it could be a 'lazy' day;  though I'm actually in the mood for working on the computer.   I'll do that after breakfast.... and had a couple o' cuppas. 

14.00    We've had perfect weather for me having a 'lazy' day... and 'lazy' I have been;  however I found the 'Train Truckers' on Channel 74 and spent the morning watching that and drinking tea/ coffee.   Being radio-active hasn't made me feel active.  Actually I had migraine earlier so that is most likely why I was feeling lethargic.   Right now I'm doing some research before writing some more of the 'Kinneuchar Project'.  At the moment the weather is dreich, and looks like being so for the rest of the afternoon; I will only be going out to feed 'Blob'.


18.30    Ye Gods ... I've just been out at the bucket and the weather is 'orrible;  in fact it had been 'dreich most of the daylight hours .... but it seemed to be heavier when I was out.   Actually I have been a busy boy on the computer, so the weather hasn't bothered me.  I'm hoping for a bonnier day tomorrow.




22.00   Light cloud and  a gentle Northerly breeze is the forecast for us tomorrow... and there's a good chance of sunny spells, but it will feel cold.   Who cares aboot it bein' cauld when we have 'sunny spells' and the feel good factor they bring with them!   I haven't got a 'plan' for tomorrow... it depends on how  'bright and breezy' I feel.  I'll continue with computer work now and again.
The workmen are making progress with the  cable works on Ferry Road but it's tricky digging job because of the gas water and electricity connections going into the houses.   
I see that Paula Vennels has done the right thing handed in her CBE; when you think about it; it wasn't her fault that someone recommended her for an Honour!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
