Breezy ....

21st January 2024 (Sunday)    08.45.... At the moment we have a mostly cloudy sky with

'The Ferry' High Street this morning.

moderate breeze from the SW;  however the wind is to freshen up to F7-8 and bring rain with it by afternoon so not a 'play day'.   I'm going to frolic along to Leven and Methil in the morrrrrrning (shopping and visiting Alice); then back to Ivy to work and batten down the hatches in readiness for a windy night.   We're in for a breezy old week if the weather turns out as forecast.

19.30   Alice and I did a wee bit shopping on what has been a wet and windy day;  and is going to be a windy night, with the rain becoming less heavy.   The Ivy hatches are battened doon;  I'm hoping that Storm Isha is quieter than forecast.   At the moment the wind is F7 - 8 out in the Firth and is supposed to be around that until after midnight.  If the rain does stop the wind should sook up some of the water that fell today.   Right now I'm going to have a mug of chocolate and find something to watch on the tele.  The Final of the snooker is tonight.

The calm before Storm Isha.

22.30    There's a frisky old wind tonight (F8 - 9 out in the Firth) but it should begin to moderate after midnight;  at least the rain has stopped.   I was out at the bucket.   Tomorrow is going to be windy all day (F7 - 8) with rain so not a pleasant day at all.   I am going to spend the day working in the kitchen and on the computer.... and staying warm.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
