Peaceful kind of morning ....

11th January 2024 (Thursday)    08.00.... Oops .... I sneezed....  it cleared the tubes a bit. 


 Although there's a lot of cloud about just now KY9's weather forecast for today is good;  we should have sunny spells by midday.   The mere thought o' sunny spells makes me happy.   I'm feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning... well... I was until I went out to give 'Blob' his breakfast and discovered that light drizzle was still with us.   That should clear away soon.

10.30   The sunny spells are here so, after a busy morning fixing a window blind in the kitchen, I'll have morrrrrrrrning coffee then I'll go for a turn in the car;  at least as far as Colinsburgh to feed her.  It's a hive of activity all around Ivy Cottage with workmen busy on Ferry Road.... and next door.   I feel guilty sitting down!

11.00    Blimey... that batch o' 'sunny spells' were short lived;  by the time I'd finished on the computer the sky had clouded over.  Hopefully there's more on the way but the sky doesn't look promising just now.  Oh well .... kettle 'on' and have another cuppa before going to Colinsburgh. 


17.00   I ended up watching the Post Office Enquiry in the afternoon so never went to Colinsburgh:  the weather forecast is better for tomorrow.... after a misty start we should get longer sunny spells, so the plan is to go to Colinsburgh tomorrow.   They, the sunny spells' won't have to be very 'long' to be longer than todays sunny spells were!   The weather hasn't been of the 'get up and go' kind today.    That said, I had a successful research mission on the computer so I'm happy.

22.00    There's better air tonight (I was putting the bucket out).... slightly less damp:  however it's supposed to be misty tomorrow morning then brighter by lunchtime.   And, I hope to get out and about tomorrow.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
