Quiet morning ....

6th July 2023 (Thursday)     07.30 .... it’s a nice, quiet kind  o’ mornin’;  there’s a

Janice and Michael's roses for Maggie

fair amount of light cloud around  and  a ‘ chance of precipitation’ in the afternoon.    At the moment there’s a light breeze  from the SW but is forecast to back to the SSE later in the day.   It’s a ‘rest/potter about day’ for the boy.   Stage 6 of ‘le Tour’ , though short (144.9km) has long, steep mountain climbs and will be exciting.    Busy day ahead for ‘the Boy’.

12.00   The weather was perfect for an early morrrrrrrning ‘paper run’ .... and a visit to the harbour;  I‘m enjoying having a fully operational bike again.   It was a good morning for the camera, with things happening all around.... wildlife, dog walkers etc.   I didn’t go round the Royal Burgh (sometimes called ‘roond The Ferry’) but I have enough life left in the battery to do that in the evening.  Some of the clouds are starting to look heavy so we might get   precipitation in the afternoon.

21.00   The weather has turned wet and miserable and there is ‘nae chance’ of me going out on the bike this evening;  I’m settling down for an evening in front of the computer.    The weather began to deteriorate in the early afternoon.

Stage 6 of ‘le Tour’, being a mountain stage involving a summit finish, was exciting (mountain stages usually are);  my word those guys have to be super fit to bike up a mountain like they do.    Although first and second over the Finish line today were the two favourites, my man of the Stage was Wout van Ert.   Wout van Ert is absolutely amazing.... and he got the ‘Competitive’ bib for the effort he put in today.   There was no way that Wout van Ert was going to win today;  his job was to set it up for the team win.  Tomorrow’s Stage (7) is made for the sprinters;  it can be exciting if there’s a ‘breakaway group’ that looks like it could produce the winner of the Stage.   I was shattered just watching it all.

‘Nae plan’ for tomorrow;  well there is but it all depends on what the weather is doing.

Having looked at the latest weather forecast it looks like the afternoon will be the best time to go out to play.  The rain is forecast to fade out by morning and we are to have sunny intervals with a moderate breeze in the afternoon.
