Overcast and wet ....



30th October 2019 (Wednesday)      07.30 .... I got all togged up to go to
Heavy sky over Elie bay.
the beach only to find it was raining.... not heavily , but definitely wet .   Not a morning for the beach .... but the sky is clearer to the Southeast so it could turn brighter later on.    The forecast isn’t that bad;  overcast with the chance of a few sunny spells later;  right now it’s overcast, wet and cold!   Orf to have another cuppa.... I overslept again and need something to get me into gear.

09.00    It’s the Colinsburgh ‘Lite Bite’ lunch today but  I'm feeling feeling ‘iffy’ .... I don’t think I should chance it.    I’ll phone Chrissie (who I was going to take to Colinsburgh with me) and see what she says.   Headaches are a dawdle, a couple of pills and everything is fine ..... not so with  the stomach.   I’ll potter around Ivy this morning and see how I feel in a couple of hours.

10.00    Well .... the sun has found a big gap in the clouds and it looks like we are going to have a spell of sunshine.  What a fantastical difference the sun makes.... it, literally, gets rid of the ‘greyness’.    I have been to the beach for a short daunder and I do feel brighter.... but I am still not sure about going to Colinsburgh.


14.30    I didn’t go to Colinsburgh;   it wouldn’t have been the best idea, especially if it’s one of those 24 hour ‘bug’ things.    I suggested to Chrissie that Pat might be going up to the ‘Lite Bite Lunch’ and that she’d probably get a lift from Pat.   I hope she did.   I went to bed for a couple of hours:  I suppose I do feel slightly better but I’m not firing on many cylinders yet.   This is going to be a lazy day for ‘the boy’.... because I’m going to be taking it easy for the remainder of the day.
I see that the heavy shower clouds are still bumbling over;  in fact it was spitting rain when I went out to the gate a few minutes ago. ‘Sunny spells’ was the forecast right enough.
19.00    Well I did manage to get some work done on the computer so the day hasn’t

been completely wasted.   Actually when I think back to me sleeping in yesterday, and today, .... that is not normal ‘me’;   I hope to be back on ‘stupid time’ tomorrow morning.   In the meantime I’ll do a wee bit more on the computer then have an early night in bed with my book.   Tomorrow might be another day of ‘keeping my heid doon’;  having said that Friday and Saturday are supposed to be wet days so I should try and get out on the bike sometime tomorrow.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
