Independence Day ....

4th July 2019 (Thursday)     06.00 .... I’ll begin today by wishing all my
The harbour this morning.
American friends a “Happy Independence Day” ..... enjoy ‘your especial’ day.    From what snippets I see of the celebrations, on the news....  it looks a really happy and enjoyable day.

Here, in Bonnie Scotland, we have another quiet start to our day..... there’s some cloud around and a moderate breeze;  a nice day for going to the hairdresser.    I have been out yet, but will do the villages after this update.    The plan is then to go to Leven early, hopefully get a haircut, and then visit Jim.

08.00    With it being cloudier the air feels chilly;  that said it is a bonnie enough day for getting out and about... but maybe not the warmest day to get a haircut.    I did the Chapel Green to harbour run;   the only other person I saw was Sally out on her bike.... and then a few folk round about the High Street as I was making my way home.    I’d better go and have breakfast then get myself off to Leven.

The beach this afternoon.
12.00     It’s cool ‘roond the lugs’ now that I’ve had my haircut..... but I no longer look like I’m growing my own blankets.    I didn’t expect to be taken so early at the hairdressers so I had to do a wee shopping before visiting Jim.    Jim was in better form this morning, though he is quieter than he was a week ago:   however he still responds to the magic (Top Secret) name.    I chatted with him for 45 minutes.... and to another lady resident who was at the same table.    Sometimes the conversation was a bit one sided – but Jim was definitely ‘with me’ today.   Yes .... I was happier when I came away from the Care Home today.

15.00    I had hoped to go up to Chapel Green and  see the Reaper passing, on her way home to Anstruther this afternoon, but it was raining... so that ‘plan’ was cancelled.     The rain isn’t that heavy but it isn’t good for the camera.   I’ll fire up the desktop computer and print off some photos for Geoff.

19.30      The rain slackened off so I went to the beach to look for a flotilla of boats

escorting the Reaper home to Anstruther, from Rosyth where she had been having major at the dockyard.    Anyway of the Reaper ... or the escorting flotilla... there was no sign, so I guess I’d missed it all.    I’ll take a few photos when I’m next in Anstruther.    The rain has passed over and we now have quiet kind of evening with the sun trying hard to break through.   Tomorrows weather is going to be much the same as today’s was but in reverse order;  mostly overcast early, chance of a spell of light rain  then sunny spells later.
