Overcast with frisky wind....

27th February 2024 (Tuesday)    08.30.... The sky is mostly overcast with light rain blowing in


the fresh South-westerly wind;  however the sky should break up to give sunny spells around midday/early afternoon.  Though windier than it has been for the past few days the air feels softer.  It's a good morning to be 'Spring cleaning;  and, I might go biking in the afternoon.... if it isn't to windy.

21.00   Progress is being made with both the DVD's and the Spring cleaning;  but I have to admit that the Spring cleaning is losing out to the DVD's by a big margin.   The weather improved rapidly in the morning so I did a washing... on what was, by morning coffee time.... a good drying day.  

During my 'lunch break' I was watching the ongoing Royal Mail saga.   From the comfy chair I was sitting in  it looks like the main thing now is finding someone to blame.  I think a 'scapegoat' is what they are searching for.


The temperature dropped in the middle of the afternoon so I didn't go out on the bike;  but went down to the harbour in the car at sunset time.   The sun set early as there was a bank of low cloud across the Western horizon.   The harbour was quiet;  but there was one water boarder having a good time with the fresh wind.   That board has a 'leg' on it that raises the board above the water thus eliminating a bumpy ride.

'Light rain' is mentioned in our weather forecast for tomorrow... with sunny spells.  I'll have another 'work' day like today.  I'm weary tonight;  I think the 'Spring' cleaning might be put on hold tomorrow.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
