was giving 'Blob' his breakfast.... 'light rain showers, with sunny spells' are mentioned in the weather forecast.   The Fife Weather Lochgelly cam is showing a clearing sky so the sunny spells should be with us by mid morning.   I'm going to Leven, probably via the recommended route.... the longest, but least frustrating.

16.45    I went to Leven as planned:  actually not as planned.   I spotted the white bus, out of the corner of my eye on the Balbuthie road, making for Kinneuchar, so I decided to chance following it (Half a mile or so behind) and got through 'nae bother'.    That said the Balbuthie road is a mess where big vehicles have met and had to manoeuvre to get through.   I was feeling brave on the way home and took a chance with the Balbuthie road again... and got through 'nae bother';  but I didn't meet any big vehicles.

As usual I enjoyed my visit to Alice ... oops ... I mean my trip to Leven to do the shopping.  On arriving at Leven I went up to Alice's and had a cuppa, before we both went to Sainsbury's to do the shopping.   It was a major 'shop';  I'd run out of Blob's favourite breakfast.... McVities Digestive biscuits. and bought four packs.  The shopping done, we then went back to HQ where we 'put the world' to rights,


over another cuppa, before Alice made a lovely chicken based lunch (I won't need much in the way of food tonight).  As I had freezer stuff in the boot, and  Alice was going to visit a friend in the afternoon, I set off for Ivy; and was back home by 14.00.  With the messages away in their proper places, I was asleep in front of the tele by 14.30.... obviously a happy and contented boy.

20.30    The gritter went down the road not long ago so they must be expecting frost.   It has been colder this afternoon;  I set off to have a wander to the beach, but changed my mind when I found that it was really cold.   I only got as far as The High Street.   'Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze' is forecast... and it will feel cold because of the wind chill.   I'm planning to out on the bike once the air warms up, but won't be going far if it's cauld.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
