Breezy ....

4th February 2024 (Sunday)    08.00 .... 'Cloudy with the chance of light rain showers.... and
Interesting clouds over The Royal 'Burrow'.

sunny spells' is the forecast for KY9 today (I added the sunny spells);  not a bad forecast considering the time of year.  Snowdrops have already brought the first breath of Spring, soon to be joined by daffodils, budding trees, and frolicking lambs.   Let's hope that winter doesn't have a sting in it's tail.... as it sometimes does .... now that I'm looking forward to Spring!

19.00    On the way to Leven I passed a field with a flock o' craws 'feedin a storm'.... the forecast for tomorrow is 'windy and wet' so that might well be the storm they are getting ready for.   I was on my way to Methil, to visit (and torment) Alice.   She had been baking semolina biscuits and they had to be sampled.  The biscuits are excellent.... but har ... er ...not soft; crisp.  We had a good blether... that lasted until lunch time.    Lunch was 'Lip Smackin' chicken done in sauce.... my word that was very tasty, followed by Apple Crumble.   I'm on a diet ... again!  


I had to wash Saharan dust off the car windscreen this morning;  a change from scrapin' ice off it.  It seems along way for dust to travel; but it is very fine.... and it had me thinkin' o' warmer places... like Cyprus. 

This has been a restful day for me so tomorrow will be a 'work'/ potter around kind o' day.   The weather forecast is 'strong winds and rain'; hmmmm.... could be a 'computer stuff' day.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
