Beautiful morrrrrrning ....

25th November 2023 (Saturday)    09.30   It's an absolutely stunning morning here (Elie and

Jim, Myra and 'SD' ....Birnie loch.
Earlsferry) with more or less wall to wall sunshine, with a light NW breeze: a perfect day for doing a bit of  the Coastal Path.    I might do the bit round Chapel Green later.   It's cauld on the lugs ... (2C now but we had a touch of frost earlier).... thankfully there isn't the wind chill that we had yesterday.   I've hung out a washing;  I doubt if it will dry completely....but it will be dangling in the sun, and that should do something. 

18.30    Although it has been a beautiful day it has been cold;;;; too cold or me to go out on the bike or anything like that.   I went to Methil to annoy Alice, who was in need of a break from her current project;  and I am the very 'boy' to do that.   We had a grand blether, then lunch followed by a cuppa.   I didn't need to do any shopping.... and  they would have been too busy for me bumbling around anyway.   The roads were really busy.   I'd planned to stop at the Leven Prom Car Park but it was 'Full'.   The Leven Christmas lights were being switched on this afternoon so that might explain the traffic on the roads around Leven.   I think the 'Bawbee Brig' is reopening next week after a long refurbishment,... that should help the traffic flow.

20.30    With my staying in Ivy I've been watching the News: Another exchange of hostages and prisoners is taking place (after a slight hiccup);  so that's more good News from the Middle East.  It must be a terrifying time, for the relations of the hostages, waiting to see if their relations are among those being set  free.   

I have no 'plan' for tomorrow other than go for the paper then spend most of the day drawing.   The forecast is for us to have another cold day.... so no biking.  I might take a short walk to the beach  once the sun is up.   At the moment we have rime beginning to settle on top of the cars so a cold night ahead.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
