Frosty .....

29th November 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 ....There some action at the Ferry Corner at 06.30; 
Ferry Corner - 06.30.

a bloke sorting out the signage for the works on Ferry Wynd, and a milk delivery van turning:  I  happened to be giving 'Blob' his breakfast at the time.   It's frosty just now, but it should be a bonnie morning, but cloudier, with the chance of light showers in the afternoon.    It's a 'stay in and stay warm' day for me.





12.00    I feel like I have been a busy 'boy' this morning .... even though I haven't done very much; but what I have done I enjoyed doing.   After the car windscreen had cleared I went for the paper(s) and, feeling brave even though t was cold, I went to the 'arbour.  The only action was the RNLI Life Savers hut being removed for the winter, a few seagulls flapping around showing an interest in something behind the pier that I couldn't see... but they obviously could, and a couple being taken for a walk by their mutt.   A relaxing scene... apart from the seagulls that were still circling around. 

Since then the sky has started to cloud over and the temperature drop to almost the bitterly cold level.   I won't be going out again today.

14.45    I've just surfaced after my afternoon catnap to find we have a wet and dismal looking afternoon.  Precipitation was mentioned in the weather forecast for today right enough, so I shouldn't have been surprised;  but  I am (surprised i.e.), because I didn't expect the rain to be quite so ... well rainy!   I was expecting light showery kind o' rain.    I think another cuppa  is required  to get me into 'full alert' mode; before going back to the drawing board'.  

18.45   I'm thinkin' that the 'Kinneuchar Project' drawing is finished and I'll take photo of it tomorrow.  I have to do that up in The Hutte because the light is much better.   There's another 'Kinneuchar Project' drawing that I want to do but that will be after I have done one of the Ferry Corner.
If the rain/sleet we had this afternoon/evening freezes overnight there could be icy roads tomorrow

morning.... how bad the roads are, depends on how hard the frost is.   It was raining when I was out about an hour ago so it's not freezing;  the frost comes in when the sky clears.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
