Overcast ....

15th February 2023 (Wednesday)    09.00.... We have a mostly overcast sky


this morning... and there’s a ‘low chance of precipitation’ before morrrrning coffee time (11.00);  followed by sunny spells in the afternoon.   I haven’t been anywhere so far; I’m feeling sluggish and choked up with a heid cauld... and;  I have muscles ....some of them to be sair.   This could well be a stay in and warm day;  now that I have new reading glasses I’ll be able to draw without straining my eyes.   The Varifocals glasses were not good for drawing.

I don’t think I’ll be going to the Colinsburgh Lunch.... I’ll see how I feel after morrrrrrrning coffee. 

20.30    The lassie from Govan’s phoned to let me know that me new distance glasses (spectacles) were ready so I had a cuppa, then  louped intae the car and went to Ainster to collect said glasses.    They are definitely better than the varifocals for clarity.... and once I get used to physically changing from distance glasses to the reading ones I think this will be better for my eyes.   Anyway I now have both pairs of new glasses;  and I was home in to go to the Colinsburgh Lite Bite lunch at 12.30.


There was a good attendance at Colinsburgh;  in fact another three tables had to be brought out to accommodate late arrivals.   As well as the ‘Lunch’ we had some of the local school kids and their mothers in so all ages were well covered;  not just the elderly.   It was a very enjoyable hour and a half of good food and happy company.

Back at Ivy I had another cuppa before settling down in front of the tele to have an afternoon nap.   It lasted just short of an hour.   Since then I have had a ‘lite bite’ dinner, watched the ‘news’ and played with some of the photographs I got today.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
