Breezy ....

20th February 2022 (Monday)   09.00.... ‘Fresh winds with light rain’ is the


weather forecast for KY9;  at the moment we have the wind but no light rain.... though the rain disnae look far away.  I’m hoping for a calmer and brighter afternoon...but I doubt if I’ll go biking today. I have stuff to do on the computer;  that will be my morning activity.

22.30    It has been reasonable day as far as the weather went;  a bit breezy but nae rain worth bothering about.   I managed to get my ‘computer work’ done in the morning.... but all I could do in the afternoon was potter around Ivy.... including making sausages and mash for dinner.   For some reason I kept dozing off after lunch so I have to say this has been a ‘rest day’.   I went down to the Ferry High street with the camera to photograph some interesting clouds but I couldn’t get fired up to go to the beach.   Irene came down Ferry Road at the end of her afternoon walk, and we chatted for a while:  talking is one of the best ways to brighten up a dull kind o’ day.

In the evening I watched Edith (Bowman) in an episode of ‘Food Fest Scotland’....it was an interesting half hour, with much of it coming from Anstruther, Edith’s home town.

Alice is still suffering with COVID;  she has had it really bad.... however she sounded slightly better on the phone this evening but I don’t think she feels ‘bright eyed and bushy tailed’ yet. 


I’m ending the day with a migraine;  bedtime is the best time to have a migraine.   I’ll take a couple o’ pills and have an early night with my book.   I have no ‘plan’ for tomorrow: the weather is going to be slightly less windy, and ‘precipitation is not expected between the hours of 09.00 and 13.00’.   That would be a good time to go out on the bike.   Kirsty, Myra and I are having lunch in the 19th on Wednesday;  I’m looking forward to that.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
