Breezy and overcast ....

10th February 2023 (Friday)    09.00.... I woke up at 08.00  (ten minutes


after sunrise)  feeling refreshed and playful.  My first thought was to go down to the beach and catch the sun rise....that plan changes after I looked at the clock.   So I showered, put some claes on, fed ‘Blob’ and brought in the bucket.   The bucket cairt must have been early on the ‘go’ today.  The weather?....the sky is overcast and there’s fresh breeze so with a low chance of precipitation.    It’s breakfast time.   My eyes are still a but upset by yesterdays test.

20.00    It was afternoon before my eyes recovered from yesterday’s test.... so I had a ‘rest morning’.   I decided to make a batch of Macaroni Cheese  for the freezer and , for me, that’s always a guddle; however I got 5 freezer meals out of it and lunch for tomorrow.   There’s always load of dishes, when I make macaroni cheese, but they have been put through the dishwasher and all is good in the kitchen again.   I’m enjoying working in the kitchen again.

I never went further than the front gate today;  but I am happy with what I have done around Ivy.   Right now I need a cuppa and to have a quick browse of the TV channels to see what’s on.


23.00    Funnily enough I have enjoyed myself today.... even though I never went ‘out and about’:  I’m sure we’ll have ‘sunny spells’ so I should be a bit more active outside tomorrow;  even if it’s only in the garden.   I have no actual ‘plan’ for tomorrow;  what I do depends a lot on the weather and it (the weather) is going to be ‘nae bad’.   If the weather is promising looking first thing I might go to the beach for sunrise.  

I’m thinkin’ it’s chocolate time then to bed to read a bit o’ my book;  the book is about ghosts, poltergeists and strange  happenings around the City of Aberdeen.   Fascinating book: and I have some strange dreams.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
