Cool and overcast ....

19th February 2023 (Sunday)     08.15.... There was a red sky along the



Lammermuirs this morning...the rest of the sky was a 'not very interesting grey';  drab would be the best way to describe it.   The air is cooler but not frosty (4C):  the actual weather forecast for KY9 being .... (22.5 second pause) ....“strong winds and a light breeze, with a low chance of precipitation”.   Not the most stimulating start to the day.  I don’t think I’ll be going far on the bike!

19.00   I’ve been busy on the computer for most of today;  but I took time out to go to the ‘Store’ to do awe bit shopping.    I realised that the lassie on the checkout was from the USA or Canada.   When I asked her she told me that she was originally from New York;  it was then that I realised I was talking to Gail, who is married to David, a friend and fellow ex Craw’s Nest employee.    We had a good blether while checking out and caught up with each other.   It’s a small world right enough.


I never went out on the bike but did go down to the beach at sunset time;  the sun had broken through an hour or so before sunset so the day ended bonnie.... albeit breezy as the wind had freshened.   Judith was out walking her dog;  as were a few others on the beach and bents.   ‘Harvey’ appeared;   now ‘Harvey’ is one of those dogs that it could be tricky deciding which end the lead went onto;  until he starts to dig!   And ‘Harvey’ digs.   He digs a hole for his ball to the depth he likes, drops the ball in the hole, looks at it.... then picks up the ball and moves on to begin the whole process all over again.   Harvey shifts some sand on his walks!   It’s harder work being ‘Harvey’ than it is being ‘me’!

22.00   This has been a funny old day for me....I had a migraine (weather) in the middle of the day so that took the wind oot o’ ma sails:  however I managed to get some work done on the computer.  I’ve taken a couple o’ pills and will poodle orf to bed after this. 


KY9’s weather forecast for tomorrow is ‘strong winds and drizzle’ which is not good;  but  I should finish the computer mission I’m working on.   Must ‘go’... slight ‘Flap On’;  got a kettle tae switch ‘on’.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
