Peaceful .....

8th February 2022 (Tuesday)      06.45 ....Sweden are ahead by 7 shots to 1,

in the play off for the Bronze Medal at the start of the 4th end,  in the  Olympics curling competition;  it’s not looking good for Gb at the moment but things can change rapidly in curling.

No matter how early I get up. ‘Blob’ always turns up for his breakfast;  digestive biscuit crumbs on top of the broon bucket.     It seems to be a nice morning (it’s still dark) and I am going to potter own to the beach for sunrise.

10.30    Our curlers were beaten, 9 – 3, by Sweden for the Bronze Medal:   the Swedish pair were at the top of their game and deserved their win.    I’m beginning to like this new sport ‘snowboarding’;  the fact that Kirsty Muir comes from Aberdeen might just have something to do with my liking a modern Olympic sport.

I went to the beach for sunrise time, on what is a now a ‘bright and breezy’ day.    Although nothing like yesterday’s sunrise sky, this morning’s sky was interesting;  moody and sometimes sombre looking..... with a lot of big shower clouds about.   It looked like Edinburgh was not the place to be at sunrise time.   The immediate 'plan' is to have morrrrning coffee then go for the paper.

16.30    I am awfie tired after watching.... ski sprinting, curling and snowboarding.   It’s good seeing all Nations mixing and being together.  Moan ahead: Unfortunately, the impression I get is that politicians make sure it isn’t that way, just to suit their own particular dogma.   That’s sad, and brings to mind the time when the opposing troops left their trenches at the Western Front on Christmas Day1914, and met in no man’s land to play football and exchange cigarettes etc. The politicians, and military brass, (on both sides)’ had to foment hatred between the soldiers (more or less regarded as expendables at the time) in the opposing trenches so that it would never happen again.   And it didn’t.   End of moan.

I’ll be up early tomorrow to enjoy more Olympics.

22.30    This seems to have been a long day;  and an enjoyable one.   (In spite of getting

annoyed with politicians).    It has been a mix of watching the Winter Olympics and doing things.   Tomorrow I  will wash the bedding off Iain’s bed ‘cos it’s going to be a good drying day.... and take time out to go to St Monans for the walk.    I won’t o on the walk but I hope to be there in time to have a chat with the walkers.   I am going to photograph my way round some of the quieter corners of St Monans.
