Overcast and cool ....

12th September 2021 (Sunday)     08.15.... The sky is heavily overcast, and it’s cool; luckily there’s only a light breeze, so no wind chill.   There’s blue sky up towards Dundee and I’m hoping that will spread south to encompass us eventually, though the forecasters have us down for ‘cloudy all day’.   The forecast for Aberdeenshire, where the Tour of Britain is today, is;   ‘light cloud with a gentle breeze’.

21.00    ‘JB’ and I have had a ‘lazy’ kind of day.   We watched the Tour of Britain

(intermittently) going over the Cairn o’ Mount and round Aberdeenshire.    We took time out for food and numerous cuppas.   After the race finished in Aberdeen, we ‘jamp’ in the car and went for a run to Crail then home by St Andrews.

The Tour of Britain has had fantastic support from all the places it passed through;   the crowd at the Cairn o’ Mount car park reminded me of some of the climbs in the Tour de France.   The race was won by the ‘favourite’, Wout van Ert from Belgium, with an exciting and close finish on the Esplanade in Aberdeen.

Emily (granddaughter and ‘JB’s sister) and her husband John are coming over to see us tomorrow... they are staying with friends in Kirkcaldy.   The main ‘plan’ is to go to The Ship Inn for lunch.... hopefully, if the weather is kind.... we will be able to sit in the ‘Beer Garden.   The secondary part of the plane is to find out is if Angus (Elie Watersports) hires out paddle boards;  again this is weather dependent.   I am looking for to seeing Em and John .... it's a couple of years since I last saw them.

For dinner today JB and I had two ‘ready’ meal.... and they were the best ‘ready’ meals either of us has ever tasted.   I had Fish Pie and JB had Thai chicken.   I’d like to tell you where we bought them but can’t;  because there would be a ‘run’ on them, with none being left for us;  however I shall give you a small clue.   There’s a field of sunflowers very near to the Farm Shop.... oops;  yes we bought them at Ardross Farm Shop  and they are absolutely fantastical.

Both JB and I are very tired tonight;  it’s all that biking and walking around Crail

Crail harbour entrance 'mooth' (entrance).

Harbour.   I may have to have a run round with the ‘oover tomorrow morrrning before ‘Em’ and John arrive;  I’m too tired to do it tonight.
