Bright and breezy morning ....

16th September 2021 (Thursday)     07.30 .... It’s a lovely morning, and is

forecast to be a bonnie,.... and pleasantly warm, day.  JB had a walk to the beach at sunrise time, while I had a shower and put the kettle on;  the ‘plan is to go out on bikes, about 09.00 and have a run through Elie Estate.

21.30    It did turn out to be a sunny and pleasantly warm day ..... and ‘JB’ and I enjoyed it.     We did Elie Estate, then circumnavigated Kinneuchar, then got back in time to have a cuppa, before going to the harbour at high tide, so that ‘JB’ could do some pier jumps.   Then it was back to Ivy... a hot shower and another cuppa before going to do a wee shopping.   We were going to go to the Deli but there was a queue so we thought we’d go to ‘The Store’:  well that was a big mistake..... it was lunch time for the Waid pupils and most of the school appeared to be making for ‘The Store’;  we abandoned that ‘plan’ and decided to go back home by way of the back road, and go to Colinsburgh for petrol, and to Barnett’s to get pie or some such delicacy for lunch;  plus a few goodies.   That mission was successful.   We’d moored the car up in the ‘Disabled’ bay at Shona’s.... yep .... we had to have an ice cream.    Two tubs bought, we headed for Woodhaven to find a seat to enjoy both view and ice cream.   We did.


Back at Ivy we had a late light lunch;  I went to have a lie down and ‘JB’ did some studying.   I must have been tired ‘cos I slept for an hour and a quarter.

Tomorrow we are going to Leven;   I have an eye test appointment for 09.30.   The ‘Master Plan’ is to have the eye test then go to Sainsbury’s to do the wee shopping we were going to do today, before heading North to Cupar and the Fisher and Donaldson  Fudge Donut Factory.   When we get back home ‘JB’ intends going for a swim;  high tide is at 12.45.    ‘JB’ sets off for home early on Saturday morning, so we’ll probably go into rest mode tomorrow afternoon.

The weather forecast for KY9 tomorrow is;  ‘light cloud with a moderate breeze and the


chance of precipitation’,.... not as bonnie as today, but you never know, we could have some sunny spells in the afternoon.

We’ve had a busy day, however tomorrow will be more of a ‘rest day’.   It will be for me as ‘JB’ is going to be driving.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
