Overcast ....

26th April 2021 (Monday)      08.30 ..... It’s overcast with a light breeze


just now, but sunny spells with showers is the forecast for KY9... from mid morning.    I’ve been to the beach but it was quiet, with one dog walker, a jogger .... and me.  Although the sky was generally ‘dull’, I had a pleasant walk.   I might go out on the bike once the sunny spell arrive.... and in between any showers that may also come our way.








15.30    There certainly has been a change with the weather, the sky having been overcast most of the time;  but  we haven’t had any showers .... so far.   Sometimes it looks like we could have a sunny spell coming our way but it always seems to end up going somewhere else.

I had a phone appointment with the Doctor this morning which went very well, and she is going to set up an appointment with the Asthma Nurse.   My breathing has been good today because the wind, thought not warm, has been from the West and not a dry wind.    Dry East winds are the naughty ones.    This has been a lazy day for me but for some unknown reason I found two films on ‘81’ that caught my attention;  and I enjoyed watching them.    I might go out for a walk in the evening.   It’s time I had a cuppa.


18.30    The ‘plan’ to go for a walk in the evening, up to the Pony Field has been cancelled;  although not actually raining, the sky is beginning to look threatening, and the wind has freshened.   I was going to say I’ll do that walk tomorrow morning but the forecast is for us to have ‘ a good chance of precipitation’ for most of the day;  oh.... spots of rain have just hit the window so the rain has arrived.    I shall settle down in front of the TV after a bite to eat.









21.00     Having got the car back, I decided to have a run down to the harbour later in the evening;  it was good seeing the villages beginning to come to life again. ... in a dignified kind of way.    The streets are starting to fill up to the ‘auld normal level’ with vehicles.... I suspect the weekends will be busy.

The sky was interesting tonight, with, what looked like heavy shower clouds to the North and East of us;  and there  was a cold wind so I didn’t stay down there long. 

It’s time for the bedtime chocolate.... and a browse of the TV channels.   I have no ‘plan’


for tomorrow;  but I think it will be a day for pottering around Ivy.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
