Absolute cracker of a mornin' ....

21st April 2021 (Wednesday)      09.00 .... What an absolute cracker of a


morning.   I’ve been to the harbour.... my word it was stunning.    Nae wind so the water was like a mirror.... it was like being part of a dream.    I took a few photographs as I wandered around .... so I have something to ‘play’ with later.   I sorted through 50 of them;  that leaves about 180 to go.    Actually I think I might get the bike out after breakfast and ‘do’ the Estate run;   I haven’t been through the estate for a while.   Orf to have breakfast.



09.00    When I was at the harbour (at 06.30), there was nae wind and the sun, which appeared above the horizon at 05.55 was warm.   Now, when I was thinking of going out on the bike I find that there is a fresh breeze, from the Easterly direction ... and it’s cold;   exit biking ‘plan’.  I’ll work in The Hutte and might go out in the afternoon.... depending on how windy and cold it is.

17.00    I spent the afternoon pottering around Ivy:  the temptation to go out on the bike was strong, but, the wind being from the Southeast was cold, and my tubes have never been fond of any wind with East in it.   However I finished my first rough drawing of the North side of Ferry corner so I am a happy boy.   I think I have the houses as I like them so will do another couple of pencil drawing (and colour them in with pencil) before sketching it onto a canvas.   I have to draw this a few times so that I get the 'feel' of the houses and the perspective.    I am a happy boy tonight.   Oh ... I took 240 photographs at the harbour this morning and have only looked at 80... so....  I have much work ahead of me tonight/tomorrow.   I went round the harbour twice.... the light was changing so I just had to do it.

21.00     I’m tired after a fairly busy day.... mostly sitting down stuff, but a very enjoyable


day.   Tomorrow is going to be another bonnie day;  in fact the next few days are going to be bonnie ones.... but cool at night and first thing in the morning.   I’ve nae plan for tomorrow;  there’s wee washing to do so I’ll do that.   I may go out on the.... bike if it isn’t too cold.    In the meantime I am going make the chocolate,  find a book, then get orf to bed.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
