Overcast with light rain .....

27th April 2021 (Tuesday)       07.30 .... We have a change of weather this


morning;  it’s overcast with light rain,... damp but not very cold.    There is the chance of a few early sunny spells, but the forecast is for KY9 to be generally dull and damp.... nearly all day.   It’s a computer day for me.    I’ll go for the paper after this update... and take a run to the harbour, but this looks like being a stay in day.;  this is frustrating, because the bike has a fully charged battery.

09.00    It’s a good day for doing things at home;  this boy will be doing a ‘spot’ of ‘ousework, making Venison Pie... then drawing.    The sky is beginning to look more promising towards the Northwest just now;  I hope to have a ‘daunder up the street’ sometime today.   I’ve been for the paper... and down at the harbour, and though bonnie in a different way I prefer a bit more brightness.


15.30    With rain moving across us in the afternoon I have never been further than the front gate; and I haven’t even unlocked The Hutte.   The computer has been on, but not much work has been done on it.    I did make three ‘Venison Pies’ (posh ‘Cottage Pies’ make with venison mince);   two are in the freezer, the third one is in ‘me’.   There’s not much difference in taste between venison and beef mince, but the venison mince is ‘different’ to work with.   That has been my success story of ‘today’.    Actually I have been feeling a bit ‘under the weather’;  probably because of the weather!



18.30   This has been one of my ‘lazy’ days;  other than make the Cottage ... Venison Pies, I haven’t really done very much.   I watched an episode of Foyle’s War... and didn’t fall asleep.   I did a wee bit of drawing... and couple of Soduko’s.   Mind you, the way the weather has been today, makes this the perfect kind of day for being ‘lazy’.   I need a few days months of warm sunny weather;  but, according to Louise Lear that isn’t going to happen next week;  with the temperatures continuing to be well below average, for this time of year.   I’m wondering if I should be brave and get my haircut on Thursday?

21.00     We had a bonnie end to the day.... and the forecast for tomorrow is ‘sunny


intervals with a moderate breeze’, but, with the breeze being from the East is will be as Louise said.... the temperature will be a good few degrees below where it should be at this time.    At least it’s going to be sunny.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
