Quiet morning ....

 

10th November 2020 (Tuesday)     08.00 .... we have another peaceful

Anstruther.

morning;  the sky is brighter, and, though still predominately overcast, it has the ‘sunny spells’ look.    I’ll have a cuppa before going for the paper.... and  dream up a ‘plan of action’ for today.   

15.00    ‘The Boy’ has been enjoying ‘imself today:   I went to Anstruther for a change of scenery and had a walk out on the West pier.    It was foggy .... in fact there was heavy fog rolling in when I came away.    When I was in Anstruther I went to ‘The Store’ and bought some vital supplies.... Kit Kats, Breakaway’s and stuff.  

On the way home I went down to Elie Harbour and  was lucky enough to spot ‘Archie’ (Elie skiff) out on the bay..... and promptly took a few photo, before heading for Ivy and a how cuppa.    Shona arrived just as I was switching the kettle ‘on’ so we had  a cuppa, and long chat in ‘The Hutte’. We had a fairly long ‘sunny spell, between 10.30 and 14.00mand Shona had been walking on the beach.

Michael phoned to tell me that my fire is being delivered today..... between 08.00 and 20.00, so I will have to stay in until that happens.... so I’m glad that I took the chance and went out in the morning. 


20.30    Well the fire hasn’t been delivered yet;  I guess it will now arrive tomorrow,....  sometime between 08.00 and 20.00.    Luckily I haven’t anything planned for tomorrow....the weather forecast isn’t  bad .... but there is a chance of light rain showers, so I won’t be going anywhere on the bike.    I enjoy working on the computer, in between doing other things, so my day is always interesting and  busy enough;  and... there’s always the tele as a last resort.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
