5th November 2020 (Thursday)     08.00 .... The sky is overcast, but the sun

Taken three years ago.

should breakthrough  by mid morning;  and there’s a breeze  so the sheets should be dry by the end of the afternoon.    I had hoped to waken up to the good news that the USA had a new President, and Planet Earth was a safer and happier place, but unfortunately that’s not the case.  I’ll have breakfast, then loup intae the car and go for the paper.

19.00     It’s been a bonnie day and we have one ‘frustrated boy’ in Ivy Cottage tonight;  I couldn’t get out to play.... having to stay around Ivy, waiting for a delivery on the 5th (that is today’s date?.... Yes it is) but it hasn’t arrived ... so far.   I guess it could happen in the evening.   

The day hasn’t been wasted because I had a good spell of working in the garden;  and I ironed the sheets and downy so I have been busy, but it’s frustrating not being able to go out on the bike.   I suppose I’ll have to go through it all again tomorrow.   Oh well, the front garden could be doing with being worked on.    The most amazing thing is;   I haven’t take a photograph today .... not one.

I set out to go for the paper in the car, and ended up at ‘The Store’ in Anstruther, where I did a wee shopping.   That was really early.   On the way home I meant to stop at the paper shop but ended up coming home by way of the ‘back roads’, the Colinsburgh Strait and Kinneuchar, so didn’t go through Elie.... so nae paper.   I have been keeping an eye on the ‘News’ hoping to see Biden reach the magic number 270;  but that isn’t going to happen for a while now.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
