Dream? .....


3rd September 2018 (Monday) .... 08.00     Hmmm .... it is wet and
Not sunny.... with Scotch mist.
windy;  ‘dreich’.   Not a morning for the beach.    However the weather is forecast to improve after midday, and we could end up with a nice evening.

I had a horrible dream nightmare last night;  I was having coffee with Mrs ... oops;  Lady Thatcher, in Harbour House.    Jings I don’t know where that came from.     I remember complimenting her on her hair colour ... which was plum.    I then woke up.... not quite screamin’ but in a state of shock.

15.00     The weather remains ‘iffy’ but I do detect a brightening of the Western sky;  a serious brightness,.... I think we could soon have a ‘sunny spell’.     I haven’t been out for a walk yet, but I did go up for the paper... and morning coffee in Harbour House.   In the car.    I then went up to Kinneuchar with a view to getting some wet look photographs... but it was too wet to leave the car.   I’ll go for a daunder to the beach when the sun does break through.


19.30     So much for the lovely evening I was looking forward too;  the weather has been miserable for most of the day.... and still is.     When the sky brightened up for a while in the afternoon I went to the beach, but the light rain off the North Sea started again so I gave up any idea of a walk.     What I did do was open BBC i- player and watch last night’s episode of ‘Bodyguard’.   It has been a good day for playing on the computer.   The sky is brightening up from the West as I type so it should be a better

day tomorrow.    What am I going to do tomorrow?    So far I haven’t a ‘plan’, but, if it is sunny first thing I’ll get going early.   If it looks like being a really nice day I’ll do some painting. 
  
I’m almost feart to go to my bed tonight.... in case I end up having another ‘Thatcher nightmare’.    Oh my word that was scary.   
Oh... I fitted the new ‘doughnut’ thing to the cistern, but forgot to tighten up the butterfly nuts so there was water all over the place again.    The bathroom floor has been dried, the butterfly screws tightened up..... but I’m feart tae turn the water on in case it’s still leaking!    I’m just a ‘bag o’ nerves’.    Actually I cannot understand how the water gets into the siphon thing to leak out in the first place.    It’s all exciting stuff in Ivy just now.  


20.00   I’ve just spotted my first piece of blue sky today;   it’s going to be braw tomorrow!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
