Nice morning ....

26th July 2016 (Tuesday) ....  08.00   It’s a nice, ‘bright and breezy, fresh morning ....  a morning for pottering around on the bike.   However, instead of ‘pottering around on the bike’,  I’m going to Leven to get a much needed haircut...

 right now I look like one of those things with long necks,... you can see them in a field up at Arncroach ..... got it .... an Alpaca!     Orf to have breakfast. 
23.30    At last .... I have lost the ‘Alpaca look’, and feel much more comfortable.     I went to Elie to ‘catch’ the “No 62” bus, that was supposed to be in Elie by 08.51 but never turned up ... so I got on the “95”,which was on time at 09.14.    I was lucky in the hairdressers as a lady, her hair covered in bits of aluminium foil, had to wait half an hour, until whatever was inside the foil, had done it’s stuff.    I was taken straight away, and was ‘sat sittin’ in Stuart’s, with a coffee and German biscuit, ten minutes later!

On the return journey I met ‘Chippy’ Hughes, who I used to play golf with years ago.   We were still catching up with each other’s news when the bus reached Elie!    I then

had a pleasant walk home to Ivy.

Most of the afternoon I spent working in the front garden ... pruning a lilac tree.    I think it’s a lilac tree but it never flowers so it may another kind of tree ... walking sticks comes to mind.    The rain came and, quickly, dampened my enthusiasm .... so I made a cuppa.    Michael and Janice arrived back from a trip to Dundee ,... and Janice made a cuppa.    I’ve done alright for liquids today!

We had  an ‘Ardross Fish Pie’ for dinner tonight... and it was scrumptious.     The best I’ve ever tasted.    Better even than their ice cream with tablet in it!
The rain is still with us, giving a dreich evening.   I had hoped to go down to the beach but I’ll leave that until tomorrow morning, because the rain is supposed to move away

overnight.   Tomorrow is forecast to be nice, “bright and breezy”, though still cool, with more cloud developing in the afternoon.    I’m going to be .... ‘up’, and out early.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
