Windy ....


17th December 2023 (Sunday)    08.15.... there's a frisky old breeze just now but it should begin to moderate by mid morning;  it's warmer than normal for December, but wind chill demands a warm jacket.  The forecast is 'strong winds and drizzle', so not a play day.   I plan to do some 'ousework, and make a batch of  'Cottage Pies' for the freezer, (now that the cards are done).

11.45   I wouldn't say that I have been overactive re the 'ousework, but I have been thinking about it.   The ironing has been done, and two washings (one woollen);  I'm sure you will find that interesting.   Although I always say that I am not going to watch the News.... I do watch it; and it depresses me to see how low  humans can go when it comes to killing each other.   And we now know what the white flag means to the IDF: apparently nothing!   Mind you they have paid a dear price for that ....by shooting three of their own; who had been taken hostage on 7th October.

The weather has turned 'dreich';  a perfect day for me doing 'ousework (when I stop thinking about it).

21.30   I wouldn't say that this has been the most productive day for me though I did do some 'ousework eventually.   And I made a batch o' Cottage pies for the freezer .... no wonder I feel tired after such a hard day.   I have a parcel delivery tomorrow which means more 'ousework can be done:  and, I've just had a look at the weather forecast and it isn't very promising;  Tuesday looks like being the next sunny day.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
