Early morning frost....

30th December 2023 (Saturday)   10.00.... after an early frost the sky is clouding over and


rain/sleet is expected by lunchtime.   I had a short wander down to the Ferry Corner;  I was heading for the beach, but the cold, damp air changed that plan.   I got a photo of the sun rising and a few more, then scuttled back and put the kettle on.   This is going to be  a 'work' on the computer day.

15.00   We have a wet, windy and cold afternoon.... and and night, but should have moved through by tomorrow morning.   The West of Fife (Lochgelly cam) has a thin covering of snow.  It's a good day for 'ousework and working on the computer.
Ferry Road has been busy with folk turning up for Hogmanay. I have not  been busy.   At the moment I'm having one of my 'Superior Quality' coffees;  I need to get back to 'full alert' mode, after a good old fashioned kip. 

21.00    Jings I've just spent an hour and half listening tae Cornkisters on Youtube;  that took me back to Myrebird (Crathes), when  'Pop' and a few of the neighbours would hae a session singin' Cornkisters tae the sound of melodeon, moothie and fiddle.   I'll go to bed the nicht singing 'The Alford Cattle Show'... and probably wake up singin' 'The Buchan Vet'.   Happy days right enough.
I've had  reasonably active day... havin' done the holiday washing (it's drying in front of a radiator)... and an ironing.... plus a good bit of writing for the 'Kinneuchar Project'.

22.30    We, 'The Team' are going to the 19th for lunch tomorrow.... thankfully the weather forecast is 'good' so I should be able to wander round to the 19th ... and take a few photographs on the way.   I was out at the bucket  a wee while ago and noticed the wind had moderated and the rain was lighter.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
