Medium to heavy precipitation ....

12th December 2023 (Tuesday)    07.15.... It's warmer, and the rain lighter than I expected;  but it's not a 'play day'.   This is a perfect day for writing cards .... and drawing.   I'm going to give 'Blob' his breakfast snack then have my breakfast before settling down for a restful day as, according to the weather forecast, the rain is going to be with us until 08.00 tomorrow morning.   The kettle is 'on'.

16.00     We have have some dismal weather in bonnie Scotland, and today must be up there with the worst of them;  it has been wet, and miserable looking, every time I had reason to go outside.. and by the end of the afternoon it was just to remind myself of how miserable it was.   However I have made great progress with the card writing;  in fact I should be able to post the UK ones tomorrow sometime.   I haven't been at the card writing all day, having taken 'time out' to watch a film on Channel 82... and set up a drawing board with my next project.   And I've had numerous cuppas.   

I now wish I had ordered more of the 'Kinneuchar Project' cards;  I wasn't sure how they'd look so only ordered 20.  They turned out slightly better than expected, so I'm happy with that;  but not happy with the shortfall.   (I'll use my various 'Project' drawings for next years Christmas cards).   By the time I covered the troops' up North and down South I had 7 left for Kinneuchar, Colinsburgh, Elie and Earlsferry.   Anyway I've put up a photo of the card so at least you can see what it looks like.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
