Breezy and cool ....

19th June 2022 (Sunday)   07.00.... it’s breezy, and cool, this morning.... a


bonnie morning with an interesting sky: “sunny intervals with a moderate breeze and a high pollen count” is the forecast.   I’m feeling ‘almost bright eyed and bushy tailed’.... and looking forward to a long spell of decent summer weather.   Another cuppa is called for methinks.


09.00   I began my day by going for the paper(in the car) and visiting the harbour:  it wasn’t that cold at the harbour though the temperature is low for this time of year.    I am beginning to feel better, in fact I’m feeling fairly frolicsome,  so I must be shaking orf the head cold ....at long last.   I’ll put the kettle ‘on’ and have a slice o’ toast.... with Queen Catherine’s honey.

22.15   I’ve been busy in the Hutte and the garden; and staying warm in the shelter of Ivy garden... on what has been a cool day.   I had intended taking Alice to Dysart but decided it would be too cold for me there (I don’t want another heid cauld);  I phoned Alice and we’re going to do Balcarres Garden next Sunday instead.  

Tomorrow’s ‘plan’ is going to be more of the same;  gardening and resting in the Hutte with Sudoku’s...  and the paper.   The forecast is good for tomorrow;  in fact if it turns out as forecast tomorrow could be ‘summer’ like.   I don’t want it to be too hot.... definitely not Sunny Sussex’ hot.... but a decent summer would be very welcome.


It is a bonnie evening;  so bonnie that I had a run out in the car.... to the harbour.   It was one of those balmy Elie and Earlsferry evenings; and a lot of folk were out enjoying it.  

This has been a good day for me, and with the forecast being good for tomorrow I might take the bike to go for the paper ....if it’s not too windy.   It’s chocolate time.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
