13th June 2022 (Monday)    08.30 .... We have a beautiful morning, .... but it’s


not as warm as it could be at this time of year;   but it was enjoyable bumbling around the boats.  The forecast for our area is, ‘light cloud with a moderate breeze’, a good day for me working outside The Hutte;  and drinking cuppas inside The Hutte.   Yes that’s the ‘plan’.




20.30    My word.... the ‘boy’ (that’s me) has been busy:  the legs, and underside of the ‘RC’ table have had their first coat of paint .... and is it going to look ‘romantic’.   Bright poppy red;  it had to be ‘Poppy Red’ ‘cos that was the only colour (in the shed) that I fancied.   I might get some bright yellow for the centre of the table top.   I don’t know about it being ‘romantic’;  but it will attract butterflies.   I’m pleased with today’s progress....and I’ll take a photo once the table is ‘on site’.   And that’s all I have been doing today.... pottering around with the table.


The wind has been cool today..... in fact we had a few spits and spots o’ rain but not enough to stop me working.  (Sunny Sussex was 10 degrees warmer).  I must try to get to the beach sometime:  since having that virus, walking to and from the beach can only be done on a ‘good’ day.... though I can get onto the beach at the harbour.  






21.30   Painting the top of the table with ‘Blob’ liable to land on it has been solved;  I’ll paint it inside The Hutte.... and ban ‘Blob’ from The Hutte until the table is dry.   He, and wife and bairns won’t like that but it’s better than landing on wet paint.   One of the bairns got disorientated inside The Hutte this afternoon and was flapping up and down

one of the windows.   I put my hand over towards him, he landed on the pointing finger and I took him over to the door and off he flew.  He was back five minutes later looking for digestive crumbs.   

I’m orf to make the bedtime chocolate;  I don’t suppose there’s anything on the tele but I’ll have a browse.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
