Morning cuppa with Jenny .... ....

23rd November 2017 (Thursday) .... 09.30    We have a ‘bright spells, and very breezy’ morning .... and cold.    The rain has moved away, but there are

showers around, which could well fall as snow on higher ground (the Grampians etc).
I had a nice long(ish) walk, along the beach, ‘roond the Chapel’ and home via the golf course;  meeting, and chatting to Sally from Colinsburgh, who was out with her dog.

Jenny (my Sussex daughter in law - JB's Mum)  is coming along from Dalgety Bay for a cuppa and catch up chat this morning, so I’d best get the ooverin’ and dustin’ done.

loaded with ‘news’,.... welll I should be ... the only thing is I can’t remember which corner of my brain I stored it in! 
Our weather has been lovely today, but it has been cold.    We didn’t catch any showers, but it has been cold... especially when exposed to the wind.    That reminds me;   tomorrow is forecast to be a good ‘drying day’ ..... but there could be the odd chance of a shower .... and it is to be colder than it was today.    I’ll put the washing through the machine tonight, ready to hang out first thing.  

The Drop in Cafe was quiet (as in numbers) this afternoon .... however, there was plenty chat going on, which is what the ‘Cafe’ is about.    The ‘Cafe’ cheered me up ....because, for some reason I’ve been feeling ‘down’ today.   This is strange, because

yesterday, in spite of the weather, I felt exuberant.    I’ll print off some more Christmas cards, before I go to bed;  doing that will get me out of the doldrums.

As I said earlier tomorrow is going to be a good drying day, so, after hanging out the washing, I’ll go out  with Jim and the dogs;   Myra is going out with the ‘girls’.    I’ve just checked the temperature we can expect tomorrow .... it is not high, and it’s going to be windy.... so it will be cold!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
