Beautiful early morning sky ....

16th November 2017 (Thursday - Drop in Cafe) .... 08.15     It was invigorating, and bonnie, on the beach this morning;   oh... there wasn’t a ‘sunrise’,
A busy sky over Elie.
well there was, but it happened behind clouds:   it was the sky that attracted me;  it, the sky, was busy, with clouds, of different shapes, scuttling over on the brisk WNW wind.    There has been some rain overnight, but it looks like that has scampered off, over the North Sea;  but .... we might catch the edge of a shower.

20.00    The early morning busy sky was short lived;   as soon as the sun was high enough, the warmth evaporated the clouds.    It remained windy!    This wind had me thinking;   “that’s a good drying wind ....  Get the bunk beds linen through the machine, and out on the line!”    That is what I did;   and it was

dry by mid afternoon:  an hour later it was ironed.   I have been a busy boy.

Between hanging the washing out and doing the ironing I went up to Kinneuchar Station for a potter around;   I haven’t done that for a while.   Someone is clearing the trees that have fallen across the Cocklemill Burn so I was cable to explore into new territory;  territory that was not viable before because  of nettles and brambles.

Today I received my annual Insurance bill for the Central Heating ... £250.   Maggie always regarded this insurance as a ‘racket’.... but necessary.   The real annoying thing is that you pay all this money for years and, should you need a new boiler .... you have to buy one.    Maggie was right ... it is a racket!   Moan over.

The ‘Drop in Cafe’ was quiet this afternoon;  but it was good to be there.   Jimmy’s

place at the table didn’t have a chair at it;  this was good.   Better than the empty chair.    Although quieter than usual the ‘Cafe’ was happy in a respectful way.

Jimmy’s funeral is on Monday (20th November) at 13.00, at Kilconquhar Church;  the full announcement is in today’s Dundee Courier.   At the end of the Service, those that wish can make a donation to the RNLI .... a charity dear to Jimmy’s heart.

The weather forecast for ‘us’ is much the same as it was today .... windy bright and cold.
