Overcast with light rain .....

15th May 2017 (Monday) .... 09.30     I’m definitely feeling  more energetic this morning... I’ve been up the ladder, that was a waste o’ time, because the bit of
'This morning' on Earlsferry beach.
rhone I wanted to clean out  had water lying in it.    The water problem will go when I get the new brackets fitted.     At that time (07.3)  the sky was grey but it wasn’t raining.     By the time I put the ladder away and got the camera out to go down to the beach it was .... raining i.e.     It was only light rain so continued with the ‘plan’ and went  down to the beach, where I enjoyed a quiet half hour, albeit a damp one.     It looks like the rain is going to be with us for a while so the ‘plan’ is to work on the computer:  I’m going ‘back up’ photos onto DVD’s. ... that will be a triple ‘back up’.
20.30    For most of the day our weather could be classed as dreich;   however,  the rain did stop about mid afternoon;   having said that, I got caught in a shower when I was biking home from Elie in the afternoon.... so it wisnae ‘bright and sunny’.     It did turn ‘bright ,and nearly sunny’ at 18.00, and we ended the day with a reasonable

I went down to the harbour on the bike, and had a walk out on the harbour beach when the rain stopped;   or ‘intermittently’ stopped, because there were spits band spots when I was on the beach.... and I got caught in the aforementioned shower on the way home.    As I’ve already mentioned the best of the weather was in the evening and that wasn’t “iggzactly” exciting.   The weather forecast for tomorrow isn’t good .... overcast with rain the chance of early rain.

My task for today was backing up my photos onto DVD’s as a third backup.    I’ll need to go online and order some more DVD’s... I have a lot of photos.    I also have external hard drives, I use for ‘backup’ so I’m well enough covered.    In the past two weeks I’ve had suspicious e-mails... one purporting to be from Microsoft, and the other from BT business:   I dumped them both.    My security is automatically updated, which is what the Microsoft e-mail was ‘about’, and I’m not with BT business.    That said it

could be easy to be ‘conned’ into opening one of those of e-mails;   they look authentic at first glance.    

I’m feeling tired tonight... probably the weather, because I haven’t done much in the way of exercise today.    I did watch some television today and  saw our lovely Theresa telling us how her Party is going to protect worker’s rights, build Council Houses. ... and help ‘Cathy’ to live on £100 a month.    I’m hoping the weather is better tomorrow!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
