Happy boy ...

8th February 2021 (Monday)     11.00 ....  what a difference the sun makes: 


we have a bright and sunny morning with shower clouds around.    The showers fall as snow; its the ‘Beast from the East MkII’ down south.... but  we only have a sprinkling of snow now and again... so it’s a more of a ‘Pussy from the East’ here.   That said it is cold.  

I went to the beach this morning, at sunrise time;  it was absolutely brilliant.   The clouds, and I like clouds, were brilliant.   I enjoyed a slow potter along to Telfer Wynd on the beach then home by way of the bents.    I am a happy boy.

17.00    After sorting out the photos I got on the beach I went out on the bike, for the first time in a week or so, and did the ‘roond the villages’ tour.   The weather was perfect... but it was cold.   I’ve just come in from locking up the bike and it feels frosty already;  so, there could be a heavy frost tonight.   If that is the case, there will be no biking tomorrow.

We’ve just had a fairly prolonged light snow shower and the streets are white;  it looks wintry.   What am I saying;  it is wintry!


21.00    I’ve just had an e-mail from ‘M’ (New Zealand) and they are suffering from a heatwave at present;  it is their summer right enough.... but there’s been a lack of rain so her lawn is yellow!   Bonnie Scotland doesn’t have that problem.... even in the height of summer our countryside is green!    As far as COVID-19 goes, ‘M’ says that she is ‘back to normal’;  New Zealand quarantined incoming travellers from the beginning.    They are a smaller country and in the middle of ‘nowhere’ right enough; but, their leaders chose the right course from the beginning.

The ‘Master Plan’ is to go to the beach in the morning.... assuming that the pavements


aren’t icy.   Once on the beach I’ll be fine.   It’s going to be cold.... mostly because of the wind chill factor.    I’m thinkin’ that the bike won’t be out for the next few days, so I’m glad that I turned its wheels today.   It was great to get out again;  and the battery has been charged up ready for the next time .... which I hope will be soon and further!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
