Heavy rain .....

 8th October 2023 (Sunday)     08.45 .... When I looked out at 06.00 I thought "Alber ma boy....


go back to bed";   it was raining heavily then.... and still is.   I should be competent on the new computer by the end of today!   Actually, the wind is forecast to veer to the West and the rain to clear away to give us sunny spells: I might get out on the bike by the end of the afternoon!   In the meantime it's practice on the computer;  and maybe even do some drawing.   


21.00   Normally I do not like wet days, but I was able to get the hang of the new computer during this wet spell, so I never got disgruntled.... in fact I am a happy boy.  It's an ill wind that disnae blow some good right enough!   Mind you the rain prevented me having a run around in the car; I'm hoping the roads are clear so that I can visit Alice.   She is bound to be needing annoying.

When the rain did stop I got the bike out and did a tour of the villages;  up to Chapel Green then along to The Terrace (Elie) and home by Liberty.   Loads o' folk were out walking (and biking); like me glad to get some exercise.   I had hoped that the sun might break through but that didn't happen.   Maybe tomorrow:  'sunny intervals and light winds' is the weather forecast for our area.

I've had a busy day, not physically but definitely mentally:  I'm really happy to have been able to do some of the 'stuff' I've done on the computer today;  the brain cell will be tired tonight.   I'll make the chocolate after this update, then see what I can find on the TV

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
