19th June 2021 (Saturday)     08.30 .... we have a cloudy morning.... in fact

some spots o’ rain hit the car windscreen when I was coming through Kinneuchar, (on the way home from ‘The Store’).    At the moment the sky is beginning to brighten, bringing the hope of sunny spells, with possibly showers later.   There’s a cool breeze coming in off the sea:  I don’t think I’ll be going to Balcarres today.

21.00   Go to Balcarres? ..... I never even got the bike out at all.    It has been a  grey, unsettled kind of day, with more damp spells than sunny ones.   I never got any gardening done .... everything was too wet: I’m glad that I went to ‘The Store’, at least I had some exercise wandering round the aisles.    All the ‘work’ I have done today, is some ‘ousework, and an ironing.    Luckily there was football on the tele so I watched that in between doing things.

Ferry Road this evening.

Ferry Road was busy with cars this afternoon;  I often wonder where they actually end up, but I think Saturday is the ‘change over’ day for the holiday lets.  The East Neuk is becoming very busy.... all over the place.   Even some of my ‘quiet’ places have been usurped;  but not all of them.  

Tuesday looks like being the next ‘good day’;  tomorrow and Monday are forecast to be “cloudy/overcast with the chance of precipitation”.   On Tuesday the wind changes back to the West bringing a change of weather.


22.30     I ended up the evening with a migraine (weather) so;  it’s a couple o’ pills with my chocolate then orf to bed with my book.   This is the best time to have a migraine; 


just before bedtime.    I’ll have a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling lively;  frolicsome even.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
