Brisk wind ... and slightly warmer


28th November 2018 (Wednesday) .... 07.30    "Strong winds with light
Bonnie....  in a wild sort of way.
showers, the odd sunny spell, with heavier showers later" that’s the weather forecast for today;  more rain... nothing new there then.    Though windier the air feels warmer:  no.. not ‘warmer’.... just slightly less cold.   The brisk wind is adding wind chill.     Funny thing is the clouds are coming from the southwest, but the wind, at ground level, from the southeast.


09.00    I’ve been on the beach, and it is breezy;  F4 – 5 from the SE, but not desperately cold, though you have to be well wrapped up.    There was the odd spit of rain in the wind, but not enough to put the camera away.... though rain isn’t far away by the look of the sky.    I think this will be a ‘computer day’ for this boy.

19.30     It was the Colinsburgh ‘Lite Lunch’ today;  and there was a really good  attendance.   The next one, the Christmas one, is on the 17th December .... mustn’t forget that one.   There’ll be mistletoe .... oh.... and food!
We’ve had a wild day today.... though it hasn’t rained all the time.   It is raining now;  it’s windy and wet.   Tomorrow is forecast to be wilder... and wetter, mostly up the west coast.

I’ve been a lazy boy today;   my only activities being to go out for morning coffee in Harbour House, and that was quickly followed by the ‘Colinsburgh Lite Lunch’.    I did have a couple of games of bowls, and golf, but I think the weather dampened my enthusiasm for doing much.    I did settle down to watch the ‘News’ on the tele but that

had me falling asleep in ‘nae time’.   It (the News) was all about the likely cost of leaving the EU;  not very cheerful ‘News’, especially so on a day like we’ve had.    To top it all the Prime Minister paid Scotland a flying visit to spread her ‘ spiel about the Deal’.    And I thought the weather was depressing?

I’ going to print off a few pictures for the ‘Cafe’ tomorrow:  I had planned to go to Kirkcaldy, but if the weather turns out as bad as is forecast I will probably leave that mission until Friday.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
