Windy ....


23rd October 2018 (Tuesday) ....   07.30    It has been wild overnight ... the wind was at 49 mph (F9) for a while;  however, it is forecast to moderate by
Bright and breezy.  (So is the weather)
midday.     It will be ‘blawin’ a hoolie’ on the beach;  I might stay on the edge of the beach, in the lea of the dunes!    I’ve just had a thought .... it will be breezy roond the lugs if I get my hair cut today! 
       

08.30     Although it’s windy on the beach, .... it’ isn’t a cold wind;  my hands didn’t feel cold.    Mind you I wouldn’t try to build a sand castle.    It looks like we could be in for a bright and breezy day;   a brilliant drying day.    That reminds me;  I need to buy washing powder.


20.00    Jings ... washing powder isn’t cheap,;  that said,  the box I bought should last me for at least a year.   It cost £10 because there was some kind of deal on:   I don’t know what the original price was.    When I think of it £10 for a whole years worth of

washing is not bad,....  though it seemed expensive when I bought it.  
 
I had a good morning in Leven.   The car is booked in for a service.... on Monday at 09.00.      The hairdresser managed to fit me in for a haircut, so I have a set o’ lugs again;  and I managed to fit in a cuppa.... and a scone .... in Stuart’s.    Leven was a successful mission.... and I was a happy ‘boy’ at the end of it all.

In the middle of the afternoon I went up to Chapel Green (in the car) and had a short walk round to Chrissy Mills’ seat.   The tide was in, and the wind was very frisky so I didn’t hang about.    On the way back to the car I had a 10 minute rest on The Boss’s seat.    This was not my best move of the day.    Apparently I need matching things for the new bed:  I usually use whatever first comes to hand.    Matching stuff never enters into my heid!   Well it didn’t.... until this afternoon.


It’s breezy again tonight but not as wild as it was last night.... and it’s warm.

    Tomorrow is going to be another ‘bright and breezy’ day.   I don’t have anything ‘planned’..... but, there’s always plenty needing to be done around Ivy;  but that’s not what I fancy doing.    I know what to do .... I’ll go up for the paper(s) and have morning coffee in Harbour House... then I'll do things around Ivy..

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
