Beautiful Spring morning ....


19th April 2018 (Thursday) .... 09.30    We have a cracker of a Spring
Elie.... this morning.
morning.... sunny, and warm, with only a smirr of a breeze from the SW;  perfect morning for ‘doing’ stuff.    I’ve been out on the bike, and spent an hour wandering around the harbour area.   I’ll go up to the Estate  after this update, drop into Harbour House on the way home, then do some work around the garden.    It’s a “ want to do things” kind of morning.

20.30     Now this kind of weather I could get to like;  19c in Ivy garden this afternoon:  maybe not quite as warm as it was down in ‘Sunny Sussex’, .... but warm enough for me to enjoy.    I went out three times on the bike, and I do believe that I might have a touch of the sun.    Mind you that’s hardly surprising;  sunshine is an unfamiliar phenomenon to my delicate skin.    Most times it suffers from wind burn.    It has been a lovely day:  now we need a series of ‘lovely days’, .... in fact a whole ‘season’ of sunny days:   we could call it - Spring.   Yes I have, and I’m sure we all have, enjoyed this lovely Spring Day.

I biked the Estate run in the morning,  then up to the Drop in Cafe in the afternoon.    It was great to see the ‘Cafe’ busy today, having been quiet last week.     Today it was buzzin’ like a Bumble bee’s nest.
  
After the ‘Cafe’ I made my way up to Chapel Green (on the bike) and had a quiet

browse around.     I watched a few people walking the beach, and the Coastal Path;  people taking advantage of sunny, and warm, weather.    Long may it continue.... we could do with a long spell of  sunshine.    I had rest on the Boss’s Seat, .... then did some ‘ooverin’ and dustin’ when I got back to Ivy.

I’ve had a busy, and really enjoyable day, .... and feel tired at the end of it.   There won’t be much reading done in bed tonight I’m thinking.     Actually it’s a long time since I felt as tired as I do tonight:   it could be the weather.   This is migraine weather. 
Tomorrow’s weather is forecast to be much the same as today’s was... though, perhaps not quite as warm.    My ‘plan’ is to get up early, pick up the paper, do the harbour and Elie Estate run;  before breakfast.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
