Not a good hair day .... it's raining ....

11th August 2017 (Friday) .... 08.30    Mmmmm .... we have rain, accompanied by a brisk wind, so not a very nice morning.    There were spits and spots
Overcast morning.

 when I  went up to the ‘Paper Shop’, but it was ‘proper’ rain by the time I got back to Ivy.    The bike is back in the shed... and I have the kettle ‘on’;   it looks like we’re in for a wet morning .... at least.
21.30    We did end up with some sunny spells after lunch;  however a few showers crept in during the evening to spoil it.    I set out to go up to the Pony Field/Quarry but saw a heavy shower coming my way, and remembered getting caught out up there not

long ago;  so .... I went back to Ivy and had a cuppa!    The shower
didn’t touch the ‘Royal Burgh’.... ‘sod’s law’ I suppose .... I could have had my walk.   I’m ‘in residence’ now, and that’s where I’m going to stay  ... there’s another dark cloud towards the West.   I’ll get ‘up’ early in the morning and go out on the bike.

I’ve had a quiet day by my standards;   though I did a spot of gardening after the ‘broon bucket’ was emptied.   I did get the bike out in the afternoon, with the intention of going out, but the roads were busy, and it was fairly breezy;  that’s when I decided to do some gardening.   Not too much gardening .... I didn’t want to risk a muscle injury.... so I, unconsciously, ended up in the Hutte, where I did a Soduko;  and drank the cup of tea that I’d ‘unconsciously’ made, before I ‘unconsciously’ entered the Hutte.    Yep .... I can spell “unconsciously” after all!

   Nae red line!    Jimmy arrived later in the afternoon so I had to have another cup o’ tea ....I’ll need to get a kettle in the Hutte.

Apart from getting ‘up’ and ‘out’ in the morning, I have ‘nae plan’ .... the weather forecast is good for tomorrow;  “bright spells with the chance of a shower or two”:   I’m thinking positive ....  any showers that are around, will miss us.    If it is showery in the morning Sainsbury’s could be an attractive mission.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
