Paradise .....

7th September 2016 (Wednesday).... 13.30     Most of you will know that I am surrounded by gorgeous scenery where I live;   today has seen the auld place at

‘her’ best.   I have been out with the camera since 08.30, and honestly, today has been stunning, almost overwhelmingly beautiful in fact.    I don’t even need to dream.... I’m living slap bang in the middle of a dream, as is everyone else who is out there enjoying a real taste of paradise.      I have taken loads of photographs.... I don’t know what I’m going to do with them but having them to look at on a dreich day will be good!     In will have a late night tonight sorting out all today’s photographs!

‘M’ is on the last leg of her flight to New Zealand;   they took orf from Hong Kong at 12.35 (BST) ... 19.35 Hong Kong time, and should arrive in Auckland  about 09.00 (NZ time) tomorrow, (8th September).    ‘M’ then has one flight ... from Auckland to Wellington,....  where she will be met by, and in the arms of ,her ‘troops’.    She will be happy.
22.30     What a magnificent day this has been for anyone with a camera .... a flat calm sea, nice amount of cloud, and sunshine, to change the lighting!.... yes a ‘perfect’ day, and I’ve had a great time.   I don’t know how many photos I’ve taken but it will be in

the hundreds.    A day like this is just too good to miss.    I’m going to sort them, the photos, out, and have a few printed professionally, approx A3 size, on canvas, to hang around Ivy.

‘M’s airliner  is scheduled to touch down at Auckland (NZ) at 21.46 (BST).... that’s  27 hours and 43 minutes after taking off from Edinburgh.... 23 hours and 11 minutes actually in the ‘air’.... and 4 hours and 32 minutes in airport ‘transit’, between Edinburgh and Auckland.    ‘M’ will have the 45 minute ‘hop’ down to Wellington at midday (NZ time) to add on, but I don’t think she will be worrying too much about that bit .... unless it’s windy at Wellington.... but wind isn’t forecast.    Unfortunately ‘tracking isn’t enabled on this plane so I can’t watch it on ‘Flight Radar’.

Tomorrow I have a dental appointment in Anstruther first thing.... I’ll go along early
Breakwater, Elie 
and have a daunder around the harbour area before the appointment;   and most likely a coffee in the Fisheries Museum after it.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
