It's cauld .....

28th June 2017 (Wednesday) .... 08.30    No wonder the weather is the  topic in Bonnie Scotland:   a week ago we were sweltering in 26c .... today  11c,  add
The 'Thistle of Scotland'.
to that an east wind chill factor, and we have an early start to winter.
It is grey and cold, but at least dry;   not a nice day for being out and about.... and not a day for having a haircut, which is what Jimmy has planned.     We’ll go to Leven (Hairdresser), then to the Colinsburgh Lunch on the way home.

12.00     We’ve been to Leven, and, did the ‘Chapel Green’ walk as soon as we got back home, before having a cuppa at Ivy.  Jimmy is going to his ‘Elie house walk’;    we’ll be well ready for the Colinsburgh lunch.    It’s not as cold as it was earlier, .... the sun is trying hard to break through... and the wind has dropped.

20.30    As ever the ‘Colinsburgh Lunch’ was excellent, and meant that a sandwich was all that was required to pacify “Puku” at ‘dinner’ time.   This was the last ‘Colinsburgh Lunch until the end of August, and tomorrow will be the last ‘Drop in Cafe’ until then too .... it looks like being ‘The Hutte’ Finest over the summer months.    That reminds me;  the sun did break through in the afternoon, but the wind from the Northeast kept the temperature down to what you’d expect in October.    Having said that;  the New Zealand Flax plant next door has flower-heads that are about to open... in spite of our inclement

weather.     It takes the Tui bird, with its curved beak, to pollinate the NZ flax;   and they, the Tui, and stunning ‘whistlers’.

This wind (having East in it), is keeping me off the bike.... it dries my throat and eyes.   However I do go out for a walk.... though I like to avoid the East wind if possible.     Unfortunately it, the Northeast wind is with us for another couple of days:  and the weather forecast for tomorrow is of the ‘oh not again’ variety .... wind, and rain .... not a day for going far.   We do have the ‘Drop in Cafe’ in
Earlsferry from the harbour.
the afternoon, which will brighten up the ‘day’.     I might have a ‘sleep in’ tomorrow .... it looks like it’s going to be that kind of morning.    ‘Summer’, this week is going to be on Saturday.... which is handy because it’s going to be the ‘Balcarres Walk, organised by the East Neuk Trinity kirk, formerly EKC, kirk.
