disnae look promising at present.    I’ve been along for the ‘paper’, and down to the harbour, and, having ‘sampled’ the weather;    I’d say it’s a grand morning for baking scones.   I’ll start by having a much needed cuppa.
21.30    With the weather continuing to be miserable for most of the day (we did have one ‘bright spell that lasted nearly an hour around midday)  I enjoyed the scone baking session, which went perfectly....  though I had to go up to Elie Deli to get some Caster Sugar before I got going.   Most of the scones are in the freezer.... away from temptation.     “Puku” is very good at ‘yielding to temptation’ ... especially if the ‘temptation’ is Victoria Scones.

The weather ‘bright spell’, that I mentioned above, had passed long before ‘brighter spell’ cast by the ‘Drop in Cafe’ team .... it was really enjoyable sitting chatting to folk, on what was by now a miserable, wet, afternoon ... outside!     Normally after the ‘Drop in Cafe’ I would go down to the harbour, but decided against doing that today;  as an alternative, I went home and fired up the big computer to ‘play’ with some photographs from ‘yesteryear’.   Jimmy went down to the harbour, but didn’t stay

long;  unsurprisingly, there was nothing happening.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is ‘good to excellent’... then morphing into ‘cloudy with showers’ later in the afternoon.     Exercise time will be in the morning!     A ‘cold snap’ is forecast for the weekend, continuing into next week, with ‘snow’ being mentioned, .... and not just for the high tops of our mountains. 
   
Our local church has “The Way Ahead” exhibition on in the Church Hall tomorrow 4th Nov, Saturday 5th, and Sunday 6th.     Friday ‘opening times’ are ..... 10.00 – 16.00 and 18.00 – 20.00.    On Saturday the Hall will be ‘open’ 10.00 – 16.00, and on Sunday from 11.00 – 13.00.    The exhibition then moves to Kilconquhar on Tuesday (8th)and Wednesday (9th) ... 10.00 – 16.00 both days;  then on to Colinsburgh Hall on Saturday (12th) and Sunday

(13th).    Everyone in the community is invited.... with the chance to put your views as to how the ‘Church’ can become more ‘present day’;   and turned into a more significant, and useful, component of .... the whole community.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
