Feeling spritely ....

     
4th December 2019 (Wednesday)      07.30 .... although still dark it feels
Anstruther.
like we have the beginnings of a nice enough day.... “sunny intervals and a fresh breeze” is the ‘KY9 forecast for today’.   I’m feeling ‘bright eyed and bushy tailed’ this morning.... I had  seven hours continuous sleep last night.   
This morrrrrrning I have to go to the Post Office in Ainster;  in fact I’ll bumble along there early and be back in time for ‘morrrrrrning coffee’ in ‘arbour ‘ouse.   Right now I’m orf to have breakfast.

 Oh ... I mentioned that I was going to buy a brighter LED lamp for the computer room:  and I did that yesterday.   It has two intensities of light ... sort of ordinary and really white/bright;  I have to say that the white light does make me feel ‘ well ‘brighter’.    I do believe that it will help defeat the SAD effect  of a grey rainy day.

12.59    My word;  I have actually done all the things that I wanted to do this 
morning.... and I have an appointment at the dentist for a check up this afternoon (a cancellation).   I had been swithering whether to leave the dental check up until after I come back from Sussex, but I am glad that I did go;   at least I’ll have had the check up and if I need any treatment I’ll get that after Sussex.   Unless I get really lucky and there’s another cancellation.

On the way home I bought the paper(s) and had morning coffee, in ‘arbour ‘ouse, with the ‘Troops’.... and caught up with their recent activities.   
We had some bonnie skies earlier but the sky is heavily overcast now.... but at least it’s dry.  Now I’m thinking I’d better get myself organised for the dentist this afternoon.

19.00        This morning I went to make an appointment to have a check up at Dental
15 minutes after sunset.
Surgery;  n which I had this afternoon.    On Friday I go in to have my teeth scaled and polished and that’s me all done before going to Sussex.   So that was a pleasant surprise.   Tom celebrate I went to Harbour House and had another coffee!

Today has been good for taking photographs;  and  that I morning and afternoon.    Now I shall sort out the photographs I’ve taken then write some more Christmas cards.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
